Can Doughnut Economics help municipalities navigate the complex area of sustainability? Municipalities must help reduce climate impact and the effects of climate change while creating good conditions for all residents’ quality of life to achieve a sustainable future.
Tomelilla is Sweden’s first municipality to use Doughnut Economics as a compass for holistic sustainability. As a strategic developer, Stefan Persson plays a central role in implementing this approach. The work includes developing a data portrait, planning a new school with doughnut principles, holding workshops with citizens, and more. Stefan is also engaged in SustainGov, leading the “System level reforms” intervention.
